Voices of Volterra is a short documentary exploring the preservation of Volterra — an ancient 3,000+ year-old city in Tuscany, Italy. Rich in artistic heritage spanning many mediums, such as sculpture, theater, manuscript conservation, and contemporary forms, Volterra carries the weight of Roman, Medieval, and Etruscan history within its walls. Yet, this remarkable legacy is at risk. Historic structures are deteriorating and collapsing, and a lack of youth retention threatens the continuation of traditions that have defined the city’s identity. Voices of Volterra highlights the efforts of locals and outsiders alike to preserve the city’s built environment and culture
